My friend Karissa was visiting from wintery Melbourne this past weekend, so we took a trip out to see her dear friends’ farm.
Her friends moved from the city to the country for a sea-change and it’s working out beautifully for them.
The trees are green, the chickens are laying their eggs and they have a very pretty cow who they’ll be milking soon too.
I’m always dreaming of sea-change, although usually it’s to the sea! I was so surprised though at how peaceful it was on the farm.
We were only there a few hours, but between the tasty, homemade comquat tart, the laughing over stories of snakes and all sorts of wild beasts and they company of two adorable dogs, it felt like I’d been away for a whole weekend.
Imagine how amazing it might feel for time to pass like that every day.
There were a lot of adorable animals to pat – chickens, geese, goslings (one was name Ryan Gosling…so cute!) and a sweet cat Tilly.
It was warm, but the breeze was cool. And the mountains in the distance promised all sorts of adventure.
Have you ever dreamed of a sea-change? Better yet, are you living it? I’d love to here in the comments!
Thanks for the beautiful afternoon Ros and Jen. It was just perfect.
P.S I really wanted to pat Ryan Gosling, but his parents were a little bit scary! Can you see him up above? “Hey girl…Even as a gosling I’m pretty darn cute…”
