I’ve seen these fluoro animals floating around Pinterest for ages now and had them bookmarked to try.
I had some paint left over from the little geometric painting I did last weekend, so I thought it was the perfect time to make good on the make-overs I’d been promising these little guys!
This is a really cute kids project, perfect for a Spring update on all those animals in the toy box.
- Plastic animals (recycle some from the kids’ room)
- Acrylic paints
- Paint brush
Tip: Use a selection of contrasting fluoro, gold and silver colours to make your animals pop.
Step 01: Paint all of your animals with a base coat of white.
I painted on two layers to make sure all the original colours were covered nicely.
Step 02: Divide up the sections of your animal and paint each section a different colour.
Be bold and mix and match contrasting colours.
Step 03: Get your glitter on and cover the feet and tails and trunks with some sparkle.
Contrasting glitter grain size is fun too.
Step 04: To make sure your house doesn’t become a glitter festival as the kids play with these, apply a clear layer of Mod Podge or sealer.
This will keep the glitter in place and your sanity in tact!
I love how these turned out – they’re bright, bold and completely over-the-top!
